The lndian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Pakistan National Council of The Arts (PNCA) (hereinafter referred to as "both sides") pursuant to the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Government of lslamic Republic of Pakistan and the Government of the Republic of lndia signed at lslamabad on 31 December, 1988 by the Foreign Secretaries of the two country. Considering the need to foster and strengthen mutual understandin and cooperation in the field of art and culture Have reached the following understanding  Article 1Both sides will encourage cooperation in the fields of visual an performing arts, exhibitions, publications and other areas of mutual interest ensuring that religious, cultural and ideological norms are respected.
