SHRI VEER SINGH: Will the Minister of LABOUR be pleased to state: (a) whether Government are aware that certain private companies are not compensating for their employees who lose their lives at work places; (b) whether recently an employee died due to negligence of Management of Usha Fab Private Ltd. 876/5 Udyog Vihar, Phase-5, Gurgaon; (c) whether the company has paid any compensation to the family of the employees; and (d) if not, the action taken by Government against the company? THE MINISTER OF LABOUR (SHRI SAHIB SINGH VERMA): (a) No, Sir. (b) and (c) The Government has not received any report about death of an employee in the said factory and no compensation claim has been filed by anybody before ESI Corporation.

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SHRI CHHATTRA PAL SINGH): (a) The Government of India has forwarded the Extradition request in respect of Warren Anderson, the then Chairman of Union Carbide Corporation, (UCC) USA in May 2003 to the Embassy of India, Washington which has since been forwarded by Embassy of India, Washington to the US Department of State and US Department of Justice. (b) Does not arise.
